Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get a custom mosaic mirror made?
The process for creating a custom mosaic mirror will vary depending on a number of factors.  Depending on how many projects are already on the schedule it can take approximately 8 weeks or more from the date a mirror is commissioned.  This time frame does not include the initial consultation period before a deposit is placed or shipping transit time.  For an accurate estimate it is best to call or email Josh Hilzendeger directly.

Can I have a custom mosaic mirror created in a size that is different than standard sizes listed on this website?
Custom sizing is very common and can be accommodated in most situations.  When making a Custom Mirror Request please specify what size mirror you need and an upfront cost estimate will be figured for you.  It is good to keep in mind that there are maximum and even minimum size limitations for custom mosaic mirrors.

What forms of payment do you accept for mirror purchases?
For mosaic mirror purchases made through this website payments are handled through Paypal by electronic invoicing.  Electronic email invoices through Paypal are completely safe and secure and allow customers to pay with a number of different credit card and banking options.  Opus Mosaics is also set up to accept direct payment either by Check, Money Order, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover.  Most custom mosaic purchases involve two transactions:  one initial 50% Deposit payment and one final 50% payment made upon completion and approval of mirror.  Initial deposit payments are non-refundable.  Mosaic mirrors can also be purchased directly through Opus Mosaics' Etsy.com Store.  Etsy.com is an online marketplace for custom and handmade goods that accepts a variety of payment options that are completely secure.

I'm nervous about purchasing a mirror online that I can't see in person so how do I know what my custom mirror will look like?
Through a simple consultation it can be determined what type of mirror design you like and what color scheme you prefer.  Once these elements are decided then material samples can be mailed to you free of charge so that you can personally view and select the colors and materials that will be used to make your mirror.  Going through this process greatly reduces the possibility that your custom mirror will look differently than you expect.  In fact, most of Opus Mosaics' customers feel like the completed mirror they receive is even more beautiful than they had imagined.  To hear feedback from our customers view Testimonials.

What shipping service do you use and are the mirrors covered by shipping insurance?
Currently all custom mirrors are shipped via Fedex Ground shipping service and shipping insurance is purchased for every shipment.  Under no circumstances will a customer be held liable for damage to a mirror incurred during shipment.  If an insurance claim through Fedex is denied Opus Mosaics will repair or remake and ship a custom mirror at no charge to its' customers.

How much do the mosaic mirrors weigh?
The weight of the different mosaic mirrors created by Opus Mosaics will vary depending on the size of the mirror.   Most mirrors weigh 10 to 25 pounds and come complete with hanging hardware that is easily able to sustain the mirror's weight.  If the wall where you intend to hang one of our mosaic mirrors is made of something other than standard drywall then additional measures may need to be taken to insure that your wall can hold the weight of the mosaic mirror you'd like to purchase.  For normal drywall finished walls there shouldn't be any weight issues or problems if the mirror is hung correctly.
